Hungry for an off-the-beaten path Minneapolis food experience? Join us as we explore one of the city's trendy and historical neighborhoods, Mill District and St. Anthony on Main in Northeast Minneapolis. You'll enjoy sampling food at the first Thai restaurant in Minnesota, home-made gelato, and drinking local Minnesota brewed craft beer along the oldest street in Minneapolis. You'll also enjoy mouth-watering pasta located in the historical Chase building, local favorite - the cheese curds, and nosh on an amazing dessert from a well know pastry chef Nominated for the James Beard award as we stroll through the local Farmers Market.

Do you love fine chocolates?? Come join us on the Twin Cities only chocolate tour! You will enjoy the best chocolate delicacies the twin cities has to offer, all while being chauffeured around in a warm cozy coach bus.

The afternoon will be filled with chocolate from local chocolatiers and learning about the history behind chocolate, process and production of chocolate, how to taste chocolate and sample the newest craze; the cacao nib. 

We'll dive right into all kinds of chocolate starting with sampling Potion #9 Chocolate Sauce, sipping chocolate and chocolate with a variety of cacao percentages.  You'll depart with a select truffle of your choice.  This is a great location to grab a coffee, latte or tea - and yes, they have chocolate tea.  Of course!

Next up is gooey turtles and their signature Chicago Mix Popcorn at a local favorite since 1932 that may have ties from the St. Paul mob.  Their chocolate and caramel family recipe can be found in a large selection of chocolates from chocolate covered cherries to even sponge chocolate.

Straight from the rooftops of St. Paul, this local beekeeping chocolatier features distinctive honey bon-bons.  Their exquisite honey is encased in award-winning 100% chocolate and then hand burnished with 23K edible gold leaf.  Each bon-bon is brilliant union of elegance and raw nature. 

Experience a “farm to bar” artisan chocolate, one of the newest artisan chocolate stop! They travel to the farms, select the beans and import them directly.  Here you’ll get back in the production area to see how they roast, winnow and grind our cacao to create chocolate that not only tastes great and is good for you!  Chocolate sample of their various bars are included and you can also make your own chocolate with ingredients you select.

We'll end the tour at the "best truffles in the country, possibly the world!" according to Oprah on the Oprah Winfrey show. Here we'll meet local chocolatiers, and learn about their amazing truffles. Once you sample one of these truffles you'll know why Oprah raves about them!

Country Side Winery Tour

Sit back, relax and allow our knowledgeable tour guide to take you to Minnesota's best wineries right outside of the Twin Cities! Join us as we start the tour on our luxury coach bus learning about the mysteries of wine and the wondrous tales of the country side.  The first winery we will visit is Sovereign Estate that is nestled along the banks of Lake Waconia. Here we will savor Taste Twin Cities favorite Cabernet Franc wine with a variety of other wines and nosh on a food pairing. At this stop you will have time to purchase lunch to enjoy with your favorite glass of wine.

We will then travel to Parley Lake Winery located in Waconia.  Time will be available to enjoy a glass of wine on the outdoor patio overlooking their family owned apple orchard and visit the petting zoo. Included in Parley's wine collection is the winner of the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition, Brianna Breeze.

We'll finish the afternoon at one of Minnesota's newest wineries, Schram Vineyards. You will be one of the first winos to enjoy another local Minnesota winery. The Vineyard was planted in 2008 with 6 acres of a variety of Minnesota hardy grapes. We'll enjoying sampling their wine with views of their beautiful vineyards, gardens, and lake view. If you feel adventurous before we end the tour, you can enjoy playing a little Bocce Ball on their new courts.  This winery also features a brewery!

Time will be available to purchase your favorite bottle(s) of wine at each winery for your enjoyment on our coach or save it for a special occasion.

River Road Winery Tour

Hop on our luxury coach for a wine adventure you will not soon forget.  Join Taste Twin Cities on a tour of three of the premier wineries located along the St. Croix River Valley.  On our way to the first winery we will learn about the history of wine and enjoy the views along the historic river road.   The first winery is Minnesota's oldest winery established in 1977, Northern Vineyard.  We will sample wine and enjoy the views of the St. Croix River and its historic lift bridge.  Next up is the newest winery in Wisconsin, Belle Vinez. This is a Zimmerman Family owned winery along with a small eatery featuring little bites that complement their wines.  Their brick oven pizza's can be added onto your tickets and they'll be ready when you arrive.  Or order a few small bits to bring along on the bus to our final winery. At Cannon River Winery, who won the Best of Show awards at the 2012 Minnesota Monthly Food & Wine Experience, you will receive a private sampling in their tasting room that was the historical Lee Chevrolet service station.  Time will be available to purchase your favorite bottle(s) of wine at each winery for your enjoyment on our coach or save it for a special occasion.

Location

Starting location begins at LaSalle Plaza (825 Hennepin Ave), located on Hennepin Ave between 8th & 9th Street; ends at Metro Building (80 9th Street S).  Right outside of Rock Bottom Brewery.

  • Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in.
  • Wear comfortable shoes and clothes.
  • Multiple parking ramps are available right in the area or choose metered parking

Tour Policies

Booking Policy: Tours must have a minimum of 4 people booked for tour to operate.  You will receive notice the day before the tour if minimums are not achieved. If minimums are not met, tickets will be fully refunded or rescheduled for a different tour date.  

All tickets sold are nonrefundable and cannot be exchanged or rescheduled. This tour is held rain or shine. If bad weather occurs, tour will be enjoyed inside via skyways.
