1. Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?
Yes, advanced ticket purchase is required because Tours typically sell out quickly. Please book tickets well in advance to maximize your chance of getting the date, time and number of tickets you prefer. Tickets can only be purchased with VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express from Brown Paper Tickets online or by calling 800-838-3006.
2. What is your cancellation policy?
Once purchased, tickets are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled, as they guarantee your spot on the tour. We cannot provide partial refunds for no shows, late arrivals or partial attendance.
3. If a food tour is sold out, can I get on a waiting list?
We do not provide a waiting list. There is always a chance that we will add an additional tour on that day. Please contact us to let us know what date you are interested in.
4. How much food is served on the tours?
Taste Twin Cities serves enough food for most people that lunch/dinner is usually not necessary.
5. How much walking is involved on the food tours?
Tours generally last about 3 hours. We are on our feet a good portion of the time but our walk is leisurely and there are a few places to sit and rest along the way.
6. Do your tours have anything to offer a Minnesotan native?
Definitely! Many of our attendees live right here in the Twin Cities. Locals often join us to learn about the great food/drink finds in the "Heart and Soul" of the Twin Cities that have been under their noses the entire time. The Twin Cities is filled with tales and history that many will be surprised by. This tour is a fantastic way to rediscover your own hometown.
7. Does the tour guide accept gratuities?
Gratuities for good service are always greatly appreciated. The standard gratuity in the service industry is 15%.
8. What if I have dietary restrictions?
Please be sure to let us know if you, or anyone in your group, has a dietary restriction (e.g. vegetarian, nut allergy, etc.) when you purchase your tickets. We will do our best to accommodate your needs.
9. Can I shop on the tour?
You will have time to shop at our specific stops on the tour. We will point out great boutiques, gift shop and specialty shops that you may wish to visit after the tour. We stick to a tight schedule so that we may incorporate all the great sights and tasting's offered during the tour. We encourage you to allow time after your tour to return to your favorite locations.
10. Are bathrooms available during the tour?
Yes, bathrooms are available at selected locations. However, we strongly recommend that you use the facilities before meeting up for the tour, so that we can stay on schedule and maximize our tastings!
11. Does the tour end at the same place we meet?
Varies per tour. If a tour does not end at the same place we meet, detailed instructions are provided after ticket purchase with the tours starting and ending point locations. Participants receive a map with return directions included at the ending of the tour. Return trips can be accomplished by walking, taking a taxi, or Metro Transit bus.
12. Should I take my child on the food tours?
Children are welcome. We love kids! If they will be eating on the tour, it will be necessary to purchase a ticket for them. Tours last about 3 hours and there is a lot of standing and walking and may not be suitable for all ages. Strollers will be hard to maneuver, but are welcome on some of our tours.
13. Are the tours wheelchair accessible?
Our food tours are wheelchair accessible, but the winery or brewery tours are not wheelchair accessible.
14. Is there parking nearby the tours meeting point?
Yes, there is parking located near the meeting point. Specific parking details are included in the meeting location directions after purchasing ticket(s).
15. Are tours offered only in English?
Yes, we only offer tours in English at this time. Please email us if you would like to make arrangements for your own interpreter to join the tour.
16. Are gift certificates available?
Yes, gift certificates are available for Taste Twin Cities. Please click on "About" and then "Gift Certificates".
17. Are Private Tours Available?
Yes, Private Group Tours are available. Please visit our Private Tour page located under "Tours".
18. Can I take pictures or video on the tour?
Yes, the Twin Cities is beautiful and we encourage pictures.
19. Are beverages served on the food tours?
Varies per tour. Some locations have drink tastings and optional substitute drinks. At some other locations water may be included and any other drinks would be additional costs. It is recommended you purchase water and/or any other beverages before the tour and you are welcome to bring them with.
20. Are there vegetarian options on the tours?
Please let us know of your special needs when you book a tour. We will try to accommodate vegetarian requests.
21. Can pets come on the tours?
Due to various food establishments we visit, pets of any kind are not allowed on the tours.
22. What if it is raining or snowing on the day of our tour?
Tours are held rain, snow or shine! You should dress appropriately for the day's weather conditions and bring an umbrella if necessary.
23. Do we only walk around and taste food on the food tours?
Absolutely not! Taste Twin Cities combines an insider’s view of our culture, history, and architecture of the Twin Cities while enjoying a culinary insight on this unique 3-hour tour.
